New Playground for Crisis Center!

The Partnership’s new playground for the Crisis Resource Center is officially open! Volunteers and staff joined us Tuesday night for an open house and ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of the playground installation. Chattanooga Hamilton County Medical Alliance president, Melissa Portera was accompanied by Alliance members Carrie Fowler, Amy Sowell, and Milli Yium as we thanked them for the $15,000 grant which made the installation possible. Several volunteers from Northwest Georgia Bank attended with their children to see how all their hard work paid off.

Northwest Navigators Shift From Habitat Homebuilding To Install Playground For PFCA

Instead of hammering for Habitat for Humanity, a team of Northwest Navigators spent Saturday, May 30, helping build a playground for Partnership for Families, Children and Adults (PFCA). “The playground needed to be installed that Saturday,” said CLP Specialist Rhonda Cathey, Northwest Georgia Bank’s champion for Habitat for Humanity, leading volunteer efforts and serving as liaison with the non-profit. “Habitat has joined with PFCA before and volunteered our services for a day instead of working on a home.”

Northwest Navigators included Capt. Rhonda Cathey, Phil Shannon, Kristy Lyda and husband Chris, Hanan Elbeitam, Misty O’Malley and husband Steven, Erin Ceccotti, Sharon Long, Teena Harris, Aimee Tripp, Stephanie Brooks (Aimee's friend), Gloria Alexander and husband Joe, and Michael Sabo. Volunteers from Christ United Church and Brainerd Baptist Church also pitched in.

“We have some fantastic employee’s at this bank with big hearts! This worthy non-profit was very appreciative and took really good care of us. The day was long, hot, eventful, fun, successful and exhausting,” Rhonda said. “I want to especially recognize Phil Shannon and Steven O’Malley for all their hard work throughout the whole day. Steven and Misty O’Malley stayed until the very end to help mulch the finished project.”
